Hallelujah

It will still be at least a week before he touches U.S. soil, but Brian is on the plane, right now, for the first leg of his trip home.

I honestly do not know more than that.

It is good enough, for now.

Emotion overwhelms me.

Addendum:

2:30 p.m. Just spoke on the phone with him. He told me "I'm done." And that when the chopper carrying the guys in his company lifted off, the whoopin' and hollerin and roaring laughter aboard was deafening.

"Pretty sweet," he said.

Wanted to share that with you.

  7. Nancy: Don't know where, or when, at this point. Talked to the wife of one that came home last week; she had 4 hours notice that her husband was coming home. I need at least 14! Cross your fingers!

  9. Great news!

I suppose you could drive to where you think he'll be landing, and then if he lands someplace else, use your cell phone and your network of blog readers to have someone meet him, give him spaghetti, and hold him until you can get there.

I just read a post from my cousin about her daughter that has fought and beaten cancer and was crying, then I read your post about Brian and cried even harder.....at work everyone thinks I'm a basketcase right now, but I don't care - what a wonderful day it is today!

    Can't wait to see him!

    Love - Angela

The wait, oh the wait. It's the worst part. It's like you are mission control waiting for recontact from the space shuttle when it reenters the the earth's atmosphere. Minutes seem like hours. I'm praying for his safe and speedy return.

  24. Yeah I am so happy for you. Don't you love the unknown. You know he is on a plane but what, where, how are not known.

Congradulations. Give him a big hug and kiss from this military mom.
