Country Spiders...

...are just out-and-out bigger than city spiders. I think they have more squirrels and raccoons to feast upon.

(Darling, there's a run in your web;
a little clear fingernail polish should fix that right up.)

I know it doesn't look like much in this photo, but click on the photo to enlarge...this spider is larger than the mice my cat has begifted to me since we moved out here.

Deep breath...I can do this. I can live in the country...

...but I'm going in through the garage, thank you very much.

  7. This blog is hilarious!!! And the timing is perfect... my colleague is leaving the company and we threw her a good-bye party yesterday.

    Our bureau chief decided to give a speech and tell us a story of a time when my colleague was at her desk and began shrieking at the top of her lungs.... so much so that everyone thought she had a rat on her lap or something. She ran right out the door and it took over an hour to regain her composure... why, you may ask? A spider. My bureau chief said that he shared that story with his young son and they came up with the perfect good-bye gift.... a spider bottled up in a gatorade bottle.

    Very touching, ey?

  8. all i've got to say is that MUST be a male spider. no good ol' fashioned country lady (spider) would allow that many runs in her web.
