The Running of the Nuns...

I got into town from Chicago late last night, and was still in quite a groggy state when I headed off for work this morning.

I rounded the corner in my neighborhood to see:

Running Nuns.

I am not making this up. 2 nuns, in full habits--FULL habits, the long dresses, caps, and all--and tennis shoes, on a morning jog.

Oh, for a camera!!! Not that I could have kept up with them, to take their pictures, they seemed to have a pretty good stride. I'm still not convinced it wasn't a gag, or that someone didn't slip some nun-inducing hallucinant into my coffee this morning.

  1. You really do see some strange things. That's not who you mooned is it?

  2. Yes:

    #3: Moon a Nun.

It was runner up only to sky-diving and swinging over the rainforest canopy.

  3. I often see nuns at the grocery store up the street. On the way into town you pass the Noviate of the Immaculate Heart, which is no longer a convent in the traditional sense, but rather a nursing home for elderly nuns. I guess the nuns I see at Bashas are the spry ones who care for the elderly ones, but they're definitely not as spry as those you saw jogging! Where do you suppose they reside?
