Sick. Still Grateful.

Devoid of charming blog fodder. Antibiotics for sinus infection, and possible tooth problems to the tune of $800...or twice that.

To boot, Brian was denied Thanksgiving leave, and Clint is coming down with what I've been fighting for the last 4-5 days.

Looks like Thanksgiving's going to be a bust this year. I am, at this minute, banking on taking some Advil, and curling up with Clint, like a couple of kittens. I wonder if we'll have energy enough to toss a couple of steaks on the grill, Thursday night.

A can of soup will do, if not.

Not what I hoped for this year, but you know what?

My kid isn't in a war zone this year.

I'll take it.

  1. awe, hope you 2 feel better by Thursday.

    I swear by 1,000mg vitamin C 3 x daily and 50mg zinc 1 x daily.

I swear it works (ask Brian ... it's a military script)

^5 for Brian being safe, no war zone!

  2. Sorry you don't feel so good, and sorry about Thanksgiving- not the way you wished, but if anybody can find a pony in all that horsesh*t- it would be you.. God bless and try to enjoy the day, kid...

  3. I like picturing you two as kittens!

    Have a good one!

  4. Well poopies. And yes, still grateful.

  5. I think we're all going to have to dig a little deeper for the gratitude this year. If you can do it, so can I. Thanks for the inspiration. Hope you feel better soon!

  6. Nancy: Clint read this, and wants to run out for your recipe!

BuffaloDick: Stupid horsesh*t gets deeper and deeper, but here's MY pony: Vicodin, baby. We won't talk about the cost of upcoming dental work until I've had a few more tablets.

Mom: You picture everyoe as kittens!

BostonPobble: It could always be worse, yes? ::Knock on wood!!!::

Fashiongirl: We can do it!! Happy Thanksgiving!

  7. When you first started saying how bad you felt and mentioned your teeth and Brian not getting leave, I thought, "Oh well, I know she's happy Brian's not in a war zone." Then, you said it! I know you pretty good. :)

  8. Hey Sweetie. Sorry to hear that you're still ill. Hope that some snuggles can cheer. Happy T anyhow!

  9. Ant that's plenty to be grateful for.

  10. ¡Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias!
I'm glad you have that worry this year.
Sean shattered his ankle just weeks before his orders came in...They sent him to Kentucky. Its so much better than where they could have sent him.
This Mom is Thankful for a shattered ankle.

  11. Aw, man. I hope both of you start feeling better. I like your "curling up like kittens" description. Sounds very curative to me. Happy Thanksgiving in whatever form it takes! Love from all....

  12. Oh, BTW... Arg! on the dental work. We can certainly identify here. We carry double dental insurance (one from each of our jobs) and Wayne has maxed them both out for the year. And it's not the first time we've done that; happens almost every year with one or the other of us. :::sigh::: I hope your pain is better!

  13. if no one is shooting at your son, then it's all good.
